After living in Hawaii for 10 years before returning to the Mainland, I met a spirit that I had not met on the mainland. A spirit of compassion and understanding, of acceptance and caring for others; and, for a long time I found myself nodding my head out of respect for others, as I had learned in the Islands. I learned to be more of service.
